The long wait is over! We are delighted to inform everyone that the Automatic Backup is now available in the Weight Diary App!
There’s nothing more convenient than having to know that your data is automatically saved with backup.
This feature will help you prevent catastrophe when you lose, break or change a phone.
• Let’s dive right into the steps of How to enable Automatic Backup
First, tap on Profile Settings then you’ll notice this new option that says “Automatic Backup”. Tap it to open.
Tap the toggle switch to enable the Automatic Backup option.
A popup message will appear tap “LOGIN TO GOOGLE” then select the Google account you wish to use from the list or add a Google account.
A confirmation will show at the bottom telling that the Automatic backup is enabled. And if your device is connected to the internet you will also notice in the box where it says “Last Backup to Google Drive” will say that the “Backup is in progress”.
Again, it is suggested to make sure that your device is connected to the internet.
The wait time may vary depending on the amount/volume of data that needs to be uploaded to the cloud, so it is suggested to use a reliable internet source for faster and reliable upload speed and avoid interruption.
Once the backup is complete you will see the date and time as to when the backup last occur.
You can also change the Backup Frequency to Daily, Weekly, or monthly as well as to when would you like the backup to occur whether over Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and Cellular data.
Just a bonus tip, you can also manually export/import a backup to your Google Drive by tapping “Import/Export backup” from the profile settings.
You can also check your Google Drive by logging in to the Google Account that you used and you should see a file that says “weightdiary.backup”.
Please make sure that you don’t delete or modify the file to avoid errors in the app.
